My church Your church

imageI just wanted to take a moment and talk about the church I attend.  My family and I attend Life Center North in Spokane, Washington.  If you want to see my church’s website, click here.  Spokane has a population of about 210,000 and the church has about 1,500 or so people that attend on any given sunday.  If you want to know more about Spokane, click here.  And just from a personal point of view, if you are ever able to come to Spokane, you won’t be disappointed. I love this city.

This church started out meeting in a junior high school gym.  They would have to pack in all the chairs, sound equipment, coffee, and then tear it all down and do it again the following week.  And did I mention the coffee.  🙂  It later grew and was able to rent an old movie theater for a number of years.  After the owner decided he wasn’t going to renew the lease to the church, we were able to buy a different building in order to continue meeting.  It’s been a long journey, but to see God’s provision and the lives changed because of a small group of people dedicating their lives to follow God’s path has been amazing.  (Just to be clear, the photo is not our church, lol)

Now please don’t take this as a “we are better than your church” kind of post.  Nothing could be further from the truth!  God works all over this world in all his churches. But this got me thinking, what’s going on in your church?  We are all part of a brotherhood, just like it says in 1 Peter 5:9, and I just wanted to hear what’s out there. Please feel free to share.

1 Peter 5:9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

Right now we are studying about psalms 23 and how we stress too much rather than seek God’s guidance and provision.  I want to invite you to check it out by clicking here. You can watch it or listen to it, your choice.

So with all this said, I hope to hear from some of you soon.

God Bless!

-Donald

  1. I think God moves and works in different ways, in different churches. For our church, it started when 4 missionaries came to our place with the intention of preaching the gospel to the students. Some people have told them that the church will never survive since students won’t be able to give enough financial support (tithes/offerings) to help the church grow. However, our founders believed that God wanted them to reach out to the hearts of the youth as they will greatly impact the future of our next generation. Amazingly, the church grew and have branched out to different locations with thousands of people attending each service. Nothing is impossible to God! We just need to commit our plans to Him and He will make sure that it will be established. God bless! 🙂
